Soggy Po’ Boys

The Soggy Po Boys are spreading the sounds of The Big Easy across the Northeast and beyond. This 8-piece band will delight and thrill audiences with the rhythms of New Orleans as you take a trip to Louisiana without leaving Portland.

Jay Jurden

Jay Jurden is a New York–based comedian, writer, and actor. Originally from Mississippi, Jay regularly performs comedy all over the country. He was recently a staff writer for Apple TV+’s Emmy-nominated show The Problem with Jon Stewart. Jay has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon three times and has also been seen on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and HBO’s High Maintenance. Jay was named one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch in 2022.
Primo Cubano

Primo Cubano plays traditional Cuban dance music dating back to the turn of the 20th century. Featuring Maine-based musicians, Primo Cubano will provide a night of great music, dancing, as well as the history of Cuban music. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the rhythms and sounds of this amazing Maine-based band.
Chances Are, Johnny Sings It
July 8, 9 & 11 at 7pm, July 12 at 2 PM
Join vocalist Damon McToy as he takes you on a journey through the extraordinary career and music of Johnny Mathis, who recorded over 80 albums and more than 70 singles. You’ll hear songs like “Chances Are” and “Wonderful, Wonderful,” two of Mathis’ biggest hits, as well as other great songs from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. This original show, developed by Good Theater, is making its world premiere!
Kouchera

Last summer, Kouchera was one of our most popular concerts. This year, they’re back with a show featuring songs from the 1970s!
Kouchera delivers high-energy, soul-stirring performances, blending the richness of soul, the emotive storytelling of rhythm and blues, and the rhythms of Haitian konpa. Kouchera is a live musical experience that brings audiences to their feet!
Vampire Lesbians of Sodom & Sleeping Beauty or Coma
July 16 - August 9
Good Theater is teaming up with Out There Theater Company to bring Maine audiences the hilarious camp classic Vampire Lesbians of Sodom along with Sleeping Beauty or Coma. This show was a HUGE hit in NYC in the 1980s, running for over five years! If you liked Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, you will LOVE Vampire Lesbians of Sodom! Described by The New York Times as having “costumes flashier than pinball machines, outrageous lines, awful puns, sinister innocence, harmless depravity,” you won’t want to miss this camp comedy classic!
Mark Brady

Mark Brady has been featured on Apple TV+, Prime Video, SiriusXM, and Comedy Dynamics. He has released two comedy specials, Incognito and For the Birds. Mark is making his Maine debut this summer. He is joined by Good Theater’s own Brian P. Allen, who makes his comedy stand-up debut as Mark’s opening act. Don’t miss this night of laughter!
Heat Wave: The Linda Ronstadt Experience
August 28 & 29 at 7 PM, August 30 at 2 PM
Kelly Caufield and her band bring the songs of Linda Ronstadt to Stevens Square for three performances this summer. Heat Wave debuted last year, and we are thrilled to present this outstanding concert in its Portland debut. Covering Ronstadt’s amazing career, you will hear everything from “Blue Bayou” to “When Will I Be Loved” to “You’re No Good.” All of your favorite songs from this singular artist are featured in this fantastic concert.
