Mr. Mushnik – this role has been cast
Voice of Audrey II – this role has been cast
Audrey - mid 30s to early 40s, belter. If you are planning to audition for Audrey, please prepare 16 bars of either “Somewhere That’s Green” or “Suddenly Seymour.”

Conversations with Mother by Matthew Lombardo
Maria Collavechio – ages 37-76 over the course of the play. Codependently obsessed and involved in the life of her youngest son. Opinionated, strong-willed, affectionate yet tough. A survivor and a fixer. Although she has a hard façade, there is an underlying and surprising vulnerability.
Bobby Collavechio – ages 8-65 over the course of the play. Handsome, masculine yet boyish. Dependent on his mother’s approval and support. Constantly getting into trouble. Irresponsible and rudderless. Although he puts on an attractive front, there is a dark insecurity that lies beneath.
CASTING NOTE: There needs to be an obvious age difference between these two actors. It should approximate the difference in their actual ages. For example, if the actor cast as Bobby reads as 25-30, the actress playing Maria would need to read 50-60.
Rehearsals begin October 12, show opens November 6 and closes November 22
An Old-Fashioned Family Murder by Joe DiPietro
Mrs. Shirley Peck – Over fifty. Sweet and unassuming and relentlessly underestimated.
Detective Paul Peck – Thirties or forties. Shirley’s devoted son. An earnest yet rather unsuccessful detective.
Arthur Whittington – Middle-aged. A world-renown writer of murder mysteries. Also, a proud snob. He speaks with a very affected English accent, though he’s probably from Missouri.
Clarice Claythorne – Twenties or early thirties. Dazzling and glamorous, sharp-witted and sly. She wouldn’t be out of place in a film noir.
Dotty Claythorne – Twenties or early thirties. Modest and soft-spoken, excited only by murder mysteries. Though young, she dresses like a Victorian widow.
Jasper Jamison – Twenties or early thirties. Clarice’s fiancé. Handsome and dim, he looks fantastic in a swimsuit.
Rehearsals begin December 14, show opens January 14, closes January 31
Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise
Jack – about 30. He is reserved and wears khakis to suggest that he’s in the Army.
Louise – in her early to mid 20s. She is outgoing and stylish.
Rehearsals begin January 11, show opens February 4, closes February 14

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by William Finn & Rachel Sheinkin
Chip Tolentino - An athletic, social, boy scout and champion of the Twenty-Fourth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, he returns to defend his title, but he finds puberty hitting at an inopportune moment.
Logainne Schwartzandgrubeniere (Schwartzy) - is the youngest and most politically aware speller, often making comments about current political figures. She is driven by internal and external pressure, but above all by a desire to win to make her two fathers proud. She is somewhat of a neat freak, speaks with a lisp, and will be back next year.
Leaf Coneybear - The second runner-up in his district, Leaf gets into the competition on a lark and finds everything about the bee incredibly amusing. He is home-schooled and comes from a large family of former hippies. He has severe Attention Deficit Disorder and spells words correctly while in a trance.
William Barfee - A Putnam County Spelling Bee finalist last year, he was eliminated because of an allergic reaction to peanuts and is back for vindication. His famous "Magic Foot" method of spelling has boosted him to spelling glory, even though he only has one working nostril and a touchy, bullying personality. He develops a crush on Olive.
Marcy Park - The ultimate over-achiever, Marcy has never been given another option. She comes from a family where excellence is expected and so simply produced. A parochial school student, she assumes God, too, expects perfection. She sees herself as a mass of problems but she keeps them to herself. Having moved often because of her parents' work, she knows she can beat the local competition. Her many talents include piano, dance, martial arts, baton twirling, and/or whatever special gifts you can find in your casting pool.
Olive Ostrovsky - A young newcomer to competitive spelling. Her mother is in an ashram in India, and her father is working late, as usual, but he is trying to come sometime during the bee. Having found comfort in its words and vastness, Olive made friends with her dictionary at a very young age, helping her to make it to the competition. She starts enormously shy, and shyly blossoms.
Rona Lisa Peretti - this role has been cast
Douglas Panch - this role has been cast
Mitch Mahoney – this role has been cast
Casting note: As is the norm with this show, the spellers will be played by adults. We are looking for a diverse cast of 20-somethings to portray the kids.
Rehearsals begin March 10, show opens April 8, closes April 25
Good Theater’s Holiday Party Playlist

Feel free to sing 16 bars of two songs to show variety.Rehearsals begin sporadically in mid-October, show opens December 2, closes December 6. This is a fundraising event and performers are asked to donate their time. We try to keep the time commitment to a minimum.
