Director’s Note
Vamps, Vampires, and every Ghoul in between! Thank you so much for joining us to witness the campy and outrageous show that is Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and Sleeping Beauty or Coma. This show was originally crafted and created by the incomparable Charles Busch in the 80s. They rehearsed and performed in a dive bar in NYC, with very little budget, but a wealth of friendship and collaboration. That show was performed during a time when the community that they thrived in was under attack, and this was a form of solace but also a protest to fight back by presenting big, queer joy.
We’re once again going through unprecedented times, that is especially harmful to the queer community, and the minority groups within our state. So I hope that you are able to find joy tonight, and laugh, and knowing that you can feel safe amongst peers. We see you, and here, you can be whatever you want to be!

He previously designed costumes for It Shoulda Been You for Good Theater last fall, returning to the craft after a hiatus from full-time costuming.
