2013 - 2014

Clybourne Park

by Bruce Norris

October 2 - 27, 2013

Pulitzer Prize Winner and Tony Award Winner for Best Play Clybourne Park explodes in two outrageous acts set fifty years apart. Act 1 takes place in 1959, as nervous community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act 2 is set in the same house in the present day, as the now predominantly African-American neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.

The Grand Manner

by A.R. Gurney

November 6 - 24, 2013

In 1948, a young boarding-school student travels to New York to attend a performance of Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra. Going backstage afterward he meets the production’s star, Katharine Cornell, who was dubbed “The First Lady of the American Stage.” A mix of remembrance and imagination, The Grand Manner is a love letter to this fabled actress and a heartfelt look back at the glorious heyday of the Broadway theater.
